Memphis needs points. CDR gets himself to the line and finally knocks down a free throw.. and another. 69-65. The Tigers are turning up the intensity on defense, hounding the KU ball handlers as they look to run clock. Chalmers gets an ugly look from three against the shot clock that won't go down.
CDR misses a three... rebound KU. They fire ahead to Rush, who misses a lay-up but has the presence of mind to collect it and cash in on the second try. 71-65.
CDR (22 points) hits a three this time! Rose (8 assists) set him up to slice the lead in half. Under a minute to play and a timeout. Kansas by three.

KU may not be dead yet. Collins sneaks in and steals the inbound in the back-court, saving it in bounds for the Hawks. .. then steps up and hits a three from the corner. 60-56. Foul on Russell to stop the clock and send CDR to the line. Makes both (17). 62-56 now with under a minute and half remaining.
Dorsey fouls out on an interesting call. He was sliding to keep up with Chalmers and didn't really appear to make much contact, but he's tagged with a block. Mario to the line. Swish. Swish. 62-58. Down to 1:21.
KU will foul just across half court. Chalmers targets CDR. Remember, Memphis had been shooting around 80% from the foul line this tournament. That's tough to come back on.... CDR misses the front end of a one and one!
Arthur responds with a turn-around jumper in the lane for KU. He has 18. KU is within two with 44 seconds left! 62-60!
Memphis will run its offense. CDR misses a lay-up with the shot clock dwindling. KU the board. Collins will push to the hoop, but he has it blocked by Antonio Anderson. Memphis ball. They'll push ahead to CDR. Arthur racing with him, bumps him hard to send him to the line.
CDR somehow misses both free throws (what's happening here?), but Dozier sneaks in for the rebound. Rush whacks him to stop the clock. KU still down two with 10.8 seconds remaining.
Dozier, a career 66% free throw shooter needs to make both. Rattles the first one out! Four misses in a row! He hits the second. KU is out of timeouts. Taking too much time in the back-court. Memphis should foul, but they won't or can't... Chalmers takes control, moving left toward the top of the key and HITTING ON AN OFF-BALANCE THREE WITH TWO SECOND LEFTS...

KU gets a miss from Rose, but Dozier rebounds. Too many second chances. Taggart makes them pay, getting inside for a pair. KU comes up empty on its next trip when Dozier blocks a Collins lay-up. Down 58-51 with 2:13 remaining.
KU will foul. Dozier shooting one and one... got em both. 60-51. Arthur stops the bleeding with a long jumper. A little out of his normal range, but he made it, so what are you going to do? Quick timeout.
