Hot and humid remain the key Kansas weather words for today and Tuesday. More hot weather is expected for Monday with heat advisories and an excessive heat warning in effect.
Summertime heat will be with us again Monday afternoon as temperatures soar above 100. There is some hope for heat relief coming as a front rolls in late Tuesday. Everyone will see some 'not quite so hot" or "cooler" Temperatures by Wednesday and Thursday with better chances for storms and rain. Meantime, high temperatures will stay in the triple-digits and heat index values easily climbing to near 110 Monday and Tuesday afternoons especially over eastern Kansas. Take your heat precautions to stay safe. Make sure you take frequent breaks, wear light colored clothing and stay hydrated when you're are working or playing outdoors.
The next best chance for showers and storms will arrive late Wednesday or Thursday. Our mini-heat wave temperatures are expected to fall back into the upper 80s on Thursday.
