NORTON, Kan. (AP) - As Barack Obama is sworn in as president, the man he defeated in November will be honored with a different kind of installation in a northwest Kansas town.
A framed photograph of Republican Sen. John McCain is going up on the wall at First State Bank, home of a gallery called "They Also Ran." It's a tribute to presidential candidates who didn't win.
The collection features photographs and drawings of 58 presidential losers, each with a biographical sketch. A few dozen people a year stop in the town of Norton to view the gallery.
First State Bank's Lee Ann Shearer is in charge of this year's installation. Shearer's innovation is a mid-morning reception - roughly timed with the inauguration in Washington. Refreshments will be served.
