Bruce's Blog - On the Road to the Final Four:

Between them KU and MSU are 19-21 from the line.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3:51 2nd: KU 58-55---a big 7-0 run to get the lead back. Aldrich with 17 points and 13 rebounds, 18 points for Collins. 23 points and 15 rebounds from everyone else.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4:40 2nd: KU 65-53--I'm prone to statements of the obvious--that was huge three from Reed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6:54 2nd: MSU 51-49--KU is in the midst of a 5:24 drought without a basket. MSU is on a 9-1 run to lead for the first time since the 9:00 mark in the first half. How about the three point attempt from Markieff Morris? You should have seen the look on Bill Self's face. KU is out rebounding them by 5, but have turned it over four more times.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11:47 2nd: KU 48-42 --great recognition by KU to immediatly get the ball to Aldrich when Izzo put Suton back in. It was good defense by Suton to hold his ground and force a turnover from Aldrich (KU's 16th). It's fun watching the one on one battle between Collins and Michigan State's Travis Walton, the Big 10's Defensive Player of the Year. They're really getting after it away from ball.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

14:45 2nd: KU 44-42--KU turning it over too much--four in the first five minutes of the second half resulting in eight MSU points. Suton just picked up his third foul, how will Tom Izzo use him the rest of the game? Suton is the Spartans leading scorer with 18 points.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

17:02 2nd/KU 40-38--As you knew they would--Michigan St. playing with much more vitality. I can't imagine that halftime was very pleasant in the Spartan locker room. Aldrich is one rebound away from a double-double, but is only shooting 3-9 FG.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Halftime: KU outscoring MSU 22-10 in the paint.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Halftime: KU 36-29--The officials had to push the Spartan mascot away from the table when they were looking at the replay of Goran Suton's last second shot--where's Big J and baby J when you need them?

The shot was clearly good, I can't believe they had to go to the moniter.

Suton is the only guy keeping MSU in the game. The senior center scored nine straight Spartan points and has 13 at the break. Collins has 12 for KU, Aldrich added ten points with eight rebounds. KU is getting easier shots and are hitting them(50%), while MSU is struggling at 36%. Neither team is taking great care of the ball, KU has nine turnovers to ten for Michigan St.

Up seven at the break. Just twenty minutes away from a third straight Elite Eight.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3:47 1st/KU 30-19: KU's buggest lead. Sherron Collins took a shot to the face just before the timeout, he doesn't appear to be badly hurt. Michigan St. is only shooting 32%, Kansas is doing a great job defending and has two more rebounds than the nation's leading rebounding team.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5:59 1st/KU 26-16-- The Jayhawks biggest lead thanks to a a current 11-0 run. We wondered about the contribution of KU's supporting cast--so far so good. Everyone not named Collins or Aldrich have combined for 14 of the 26 KU points.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7:57 1st/20-16 KU

The 'Hawks are shooting just 37%. Cole Aldrich is off to a 0-5 start , but does have five rebounds. KU was outboarded by 13 in their loss at East Lansing, they're up by one in the battle of the boards to this point.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11:58 1st/15-10  KU--Game of runs? KU with five straight, Michigan St. Answers with eight of their own, Kansas has scored six in row to the break. Nice ups by Brady Morningstar on the steal and dunk--he's no Billy Hoyle.
