Those who were there say it went from rain to something much worse in a matter of minutes.
"A lot of craziness happened last night," says Wingnuts announcer Steve Schuster.
Lawrence Dumont stadium took a direct hit from large hail. Cars in the lot were badly damaged. Windows on many were broken out. The stadium also has a list of damage a page long.
"You could see it getting bigger and bigger and bigger it was crazy," says intern Caitlin Smith.
The hail created a white-out on the field. Melting hail and heavy rain also caused minor flooding inside the stadium.
"It's a downer but certainly one of the most unbelievable things I've seen on a baseball field as far as weather goes," says Schuster.
The game was called in the 5th inning. Most fans had already left the stadium because of rain.
