Thieves Reach Over Baby to Steal Purse

It wasn't your "normal" purse snatching. That's why a Wichita woman wants you to hear her story so it doesn't happen to someone else.

"It was kind of girls day out. We were at Sam's picking up a few things," says Christy who doesn't want her last name used.

Christy was walking out of Sam's Club on West Kellogg Monday with her seven-year-old and 9-day-old girls.

Both girls were in the cart when two men in a car came up behind her, reached over her baby, and grabbed her purse. Her husband Sean saw surveillance video of the incident and says the men knew what they were doing.

"Being able to reach up and out and not pull the cart over…it was well," says Sean.

Christy says she's always aware when she walks out of a store, but she never saw it coming. She also learned that the car was seen earlier looking for victims and that's something she wants other women to know.

"It was insulting to me that they did it with children in the cart. It scared her so badly," says Christy talking about her 7-year-old daughter.

Police are looking for a green or dark colored two door Saturn with license plate WYT 531.
