Eyewitness News offered each candidate in his or her party's primary 2 minutes to make their case to voters. Read what they said below: My name is Alan Jilka, Congressional candidate in Kansas' 1st district.
One of the most important issues facing Kansans today is Health Care Reform.
I support giving Health Care Reform a chance to work.
Reform will bring 820 million dollars each year into the state reducing the number of uninsured, at zero cost to our state government and without raising taxes on the vast majority of Kansans.
Reform benefits our seniors by strengthening Medicare and improving services with absolutely no cuts to traditional Medicare benefits.

Reform also helps create jobs. Businesses will spend significantly less as a group since many employees will shift to individual plans.
Health Care Reform ends discrimination against persons with pre-existing conditions so that children born with illnesses can now receive the medical attention they deserve.
That's why Bob Dole supports Health Care Reform, because it preserves life in Kansas.
I have a passion for public service. As a three-term mayor of Salina, I possess the experience and perspective to effectively represent the first district, at a time when ideologues from both sides have gridlocked Congress.
Please visit JilkaforCongress.com and together, let's bring solutions that work for the people of the 1st district.

Thank you.
