Visiting
Parents are not considered visitors and are welcome any time.Visitors should be limited to two people at the bedside at a time. In special circumstances, additional visitors may be allowed. We ask that visitation by other people be restricted during shift changes (7-7:30 a.m. and 7-7:30 p.m.) so that nurses may exchange information and reassess patients.
Children under the age of 12 are not usually allowed to visit in the PICU. However, when a visit by a brother or sister might be therapeutic for the patient or the sibling, arrangements may be made with the nurse for such a visit. Children in the unit or the waiting area must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
