Riverfest means something special for so many in different ways.
"I've grown up with it, we go all the time. So it's kind of like a tradition that we come out every year," said Melissa Hudson who was at Riverfest with her family.
The day started out with the River Run, a race through downtown Wichita.
"The River Run is special to me, I'm a native Wichitan, so I have memories of the Riverfest going back years and years I know I used to do the two mile with my dad when I was a little girl so it's special," said Jinny Ellis.
And once the run ended, the variety of other things to do caught the attendees' eyes. Whether it was souvenir shopping or sporting events or even the cuisine.
"The food court is really what it is, everyday during Riverfest, at lunch time you come down and listen to music and hit, it all boils down to the food," said Jim Hudson.
