Three people face federal charges, accused in an armed robbery in western Kansas. The robbery happened in February at the Loves Country Store on Highway 50 in Syracuse.
Prosecutors say that's where two suspects wearing ski masks entered the store. They say one showed the clerk a handgun and demanded money, then fired several shots, one to warn the clerk and four to break the lock on the store's safe. Investigators say the robbers took cash, cigarettes and lighters before leaving in a Cadillac.
In March police served a search warrant at a home in Johnson City belonging to John Grant Shore. The U.S. Attorney's office says Shore, Kristina Pauline Lashmet and Ryan Wesley Swisher were all arrested in connection with the crime. All three have been charged with robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
