Beat The Heat in Wilson County

When the heat and humidity are high it can be dangerous to be exposed to it for very long. To help people stay cool the Wilson County Health Department suggests visiting the following places:

· In Neodesha, use the Rankin Library at 502 Indiana. Hours are 9:30 am - 6:30 pm Mon.-Wed.; 9:30 am -5:30 pm Thursday & Friday; and 9 am - noon on Saturday.

· To cool off in Altoona, go to the Altoona Library at 714 Main Street. Hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; 1:00 - 6 pm. For help at any other time, call 568-6645.

· Buffalo City Hall is open for residents to cool off from 9:30 am - noon, and 1 pm - 5 pm.

· Fredonia has two locations for cooling. The Fredonia Public Library at 807 Jefferson is open from 10 am - 8 pm Monday through Thursday, 10 am - 6 pm on Friday, and on Saturday from 10 am - noon. The Fredonia City Hall Commissioner Room at 100 N. 15th St. is also available from noon - 5pm weekdays.
