With all the economic news you've heard the last few years, it may surprise you to hear that local aviation companies are hiring.
That was obvious today at this career expo held at Wichita's east side Marriott.
More than a dozen Wichita-area companies are offering opportunities for engineers, mechanics, avionics experts, and many other specialties.
The career fair is good news for someone like Joe Zincl.
He is looking for an engineering position after being laid off from Hawker Beechcraft
Zincl says, "I think it's positive...it's positive upbeat for people who've been out of work a long time...for people like myself. I think it gives people hope they can find something"
Among the Wichita companies involved in the job expo were Boeing, Hawker-Beechcraft and Spirit AeroSystems.
