TOPEKA, KAN. – Two lucky tickets, both sold in South Central Kansas, are each worth $40,000 in last night's Mega Millions drawing. The winning numbers are 12-17-21-23-30 Megaball 24.
The tickets matched four of the first five numbers, plus the Mega Ball, and were multiplied by 4 because the players had purchased the Megaplier option. Megaplier, which costs an extra dollar per play, multiplies non-jackpot Mega Millions prizes from 2 to 4 times, depending on what the Megaplier number is for that drawing. Last night the Megaplier number was 4.
The south central region of Kansas where the $40,000 tickets were sold includes these 15 counties: Barton, Rice, McPherson, Marion, Stafford, Reno, Harvey, Pratt, Kingman, Sedgwick, Butler, Barber, Harper, Sumner, and Cowley.
The Mega Millions jackpot of $26 million was hit last night in New York, so the jackpot returns to $12 million for Friday night's drawing.
