Trial set in baby's death

(WICHITA, Kan) — He's accused of killing his ex-girlfriends son, and a judge decides there is enough evidence to send Shawn Blackburn to trial in August for 1st degree murder and child abuse.

Ten-month-old Karsyn Young died in March. Blackburn was with the boy when he died. He told emergency dispatchers the boy had fallen down the stairs.

When officers got to the home they found the child with "assaultive type" injuries with bruising over his body and head.

Investigators said the injuries were too many and too severe to be accidental.

During a preliminary hearing Monday, Blackburn's attorney said there is no evidence to show the death was intentional.
