Two people die in Montgomery County crash

(MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan.) — Two die in a car crash in Montgomery County.

It happened Saturday evening. Authorities say that a the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was driving westbound on U400 approaching the U169 overpass. At the same time a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on U400 approaching the overpass.

The trucks front driver side tire tread seperated, this caused the vehicle to swerve into the path of the car. The vehicles hit each other head on.

Two people in the Silverado died. One of them was not wearing a seatbelt. A third passenger in the car was taken to a hosptial.

There were two people in the pickup truck, neither of them suffered any serious injuries.
