(WICHITA, Kan.) — Close to two thousand Adam Lambert fans started lining up early for the show. The American Idol runner up was performing at the Cotillion Ballroom Friday evening.

Some fans drove from as far away as Dallas, Texas and started waiting at 10am.

"We had a boom box out here that was blasting some music for awhile," said Jenna Sinclair who drove from Dallas. "It's been fun. A lot of good company."

Fans like her said it was important to get there early because the closer they could get to the stage, they say the better the show will be for them.

"I've seen him on you know, the movies and you tube for so long," said fan Sarah Schmidt. "Just having him right there up front, being able to almost touch him!"
