(IOLA, Kan.) — Haldex will move its Iola brake plant to Monterrey, Mexico.
The company says the decision to close the Kansas plant is part of its "Cost-Reduction" plan.
Approx. 160 people will be out of work when production on Commercial Vehicles Systems or CVS ends.
Work at the Iola facility will stop by the end of 2010. Haldex has already moved some of its operations to Mexico.
The Iola plant has been in operation since 1973. At one time, the Kansas plant had more than 400 employees.
