(WICHITA, Kan.) — A suspect is in custody for first-degree murder after the shooting death of a man at a Wichita home. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Grady Lane.

Police were called his home in the 500 block of North Wabash just before seven o'clock Saturday morning.

Police say Lane's wife called 911 after finding her husband dead. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head. She told police she had heard shots fired around eleven on Friday night, but just went back to sleep.

Around that same time Friday night, someone in the 500 block of North Ohio had called police to report the shots fired. Officers came to investigate, but didn't find anything.

Police say the shots were fired into Lane's house from the backyard. Shots hit a window and the siding of the house.

Police say the victim and a neighbor have had an on-going dispute for the past couple of months. The neighbor, a 41 year old man, was arrested for the shooting. The case against him will be presented to the District Attorney's office for formal charges Tuesday afternoon.
