{KANSAS CITY, Kan.} — Royals manager Ned Yost has received a two-year contract extension that would keep him in charge of Kansas City through the 2012 season.
Royals general manager Dayton Moore announced the extension Saturday.
Yost joined the Royals' front office on Jan. 13 as special adviser to baseball operations before replacing manager Trey Hillman, who was fired May 13. The Royals were 31-37 entering
Saturday night's game since Yost took over.
Yost managed the Milwaukee Brewers to a 457-502 record from
2003-08, and was a member of the Atlanta Braves coaching staff from
1991-2002.
