(EMPORIA, Kan.) — A teen dies following an accident at the Lyon County Fairgrounds. Seventeen-year-old Hannah Deaver was attending the Mud-A-Thon event on Saturday when a vehicle left the track, and crashed into a parked pickup. Deaver is believed to have been in the bed of the pickup watching the event.
Deaver was transported to Newman Regional Health, then flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wcihita where she died.
Another 17-year-oldwas injured in the accident as well. She was transported to Newmonth Regional Health with non-life threatening injuries.
The Emporia Police Dept. and Lyon Co. Sheriff's Dept. are investigating the accident.
