AC Unit Causes House Fire

August 16, 2010|By Megahn Snyder | KWCH 12 Eyewitness

(WICHITA, Kan.) — A Wichita house fire has firefighters sending out a summer warning: pay attention when your electrical breakers trip.
A Wichita Fire Department captain says flames at a house on Pinecrest Wednesday started because a window air conditioner overloaded the system.  The person who lived there says the AC had already tripped the breaker several times.
Experts say you should unplug other things in your home if you need to use an electrical device that's tripped the system more than once.
