Wichita emergency crews work two motorcycle accidents - both happening within minutes of each other.

The first crash occurred on K-42 and Hoover around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. Investigators say one person was critically hurt when a vehicle changed lanes and clipped the motorcycle. The rider was ejected. Although a helmet was worn, the rider was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Just north of Wichita, an SUV collided with a motorcycle on K-254 and Webb. Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say the two vehicles tried to avoid each other. It's not clear right now just who pulled out in front of who, but the motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital. He was talking to emergency crews as he was transported.

K-254 has seen its share of accidents within the last four days - two of them deadly.

The first accident happened on Saturday when a car blew through a stop sign on Greenwich and collided with a truck on the highway. The car's driver and passenger died in the crash. The driver of the truck has since been treated and released from the hospital.
