(WICHITA, Kan.) — Wichita police have reopened the intersection of Harry and Hydraulic after a gas leak. Road construction workers hit the pipe around 9:30 Friday morning.
Emergency crews considered evacuating the area, including nearby Linwood Elementary School.
They decided it was not necessary because wind speeds were high enough to dissipate the gas quickly.
