{LAWRENCE, Kan.} — Kansas running back Rell Lewis injured his knee in Saturday morning's scrimmage and will not play in the 2010 season for the Jayhawks.
Coach Turner Gill made the announcement today. Lewis was third on the depth chart at running back but coach Gill said he will not move Toben Opurum back to offense. Opurum was moved to linebacker near the beginning of training camp.
Lewis played in 5 games in 2009 rushing for 72 yards on 13 carries.
