Alcohol may have played a role in west Wichita accident

August 29, 2010|By Joe Fenton | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(WICHITA, Kan.) — Emergency crews respond to a rollover accident early Sunday morning in west Wichita.

Police tell our news partners at KFDI a pickup was traveling west on Zoo Boulevard when the river struck the curb several times.  The vehicle rolled, and came to a rest in a yard near 8th & Kessler.

One person was able to get out of the truck by themselves.  But the driver and another passenger were found unresponsive when emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Police say there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the inside of the truck.  Investigators are trying to determine if alcohol did in fact play a role in the crash.
