Dole is recovering from complications from recent knee surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
The President was at Walter Reed visiting with soldiers hurt in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The former Senate Majority Leader and 1996 Republican presidential nominee is expecting another knee operations soon according to the website Politico.
