'Cats finish strong against UCLA

September 06, 2010|By Grant Meech | KWCH 12 Eyewitness Sports

MANHATTAN, Kan. — If you think the Wildcats didn't remember playing UCLA at the Rose Bowl last season, you'd be fooling yourself.

K-State wanted to finish strong in Manhattan to prove that they could win. And when UCLA marched down the field and scored a quick touchdown to get within two, all they needed was a little reminder from Coach Snyder about last season's game.

"I also brought to their attention, that we kind of faded into the wordwork so to speak. We didn't play poorly but didn't play as well as we needed to win the football game," said K-State head coach Bill Snyder. "We needed to have that consistency not just the first drive and then we could have some consistency throughut the game."

"We just proved that we could go out there and finish a game unlike previous years," said Daniel Thomas, K-State running back. "I think this is a great motivation for us to get this win and I think it will be great through out the season."

Missouri State comes to Manhattan Saturday.
