(HUTCHINSON, Kan.) — Vendors are putting up booths and getting their stands ready for the opening day of the Kansas State Fair. It's days away and workers are making sure everything is in order. One thing that everyone is looking forward to are cooking up all the tasty treats that can't be found anywhere else.
"We look at the Fair as a holiday," said Denny Stoecklein of the Kansas State Fair. "When you get to the fair, you get to eat those things you don't normally get to eat."
With pork burgers and turkey legs on the menu, one item is making its Fair debut this year. The Krispy Kreme Doughnut Burger.
"It's exactly like it sounds," said Russ Silvey, who'll be serving up this item at the Carousel Cafe. "It is just a hamburger with all the fixings, only instead of a bun, we'll be using a Krispy Kreme Doughnut."
