Probation for Wichita teacher in solicitation case

(WICHITA, Kan.) — A former Wichita teacher who pleaded no contest to attempted sexual exploitation of a child under 18 is sentenced to probation.

Kevin Christinat was sentenced to 12 months probation in Sedgwick County Court Wednesday.

Christinat entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors last month. 

The 32-year-old former English teacher with Northeast Magnet High School was originally was charged with electronic solicitation of a child at least 14 but younger than 16.

Police don't believe the school or any students at his school were involved.
