One dead, another injured in Sumner County ATV accident

(SUMNER COUNTY, Kan.) — One person is killed, another is injured after an ATV accident in Sumner County.

It happened just after 11 o'clock Saturday night at the Kansas Badlands near South Haven. The two victims were riding a Polaris Razor when they tried to jump a dirt hill.

The vehilce flipped over several times. Both were wearing a seat belt but no helmet. Officials had to use jaws of life to remove the two from the vehicle.

The driver was transported to the Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other passenger was taken to a Wichita Hospital by air ambulance.  She is listed in serious condition.

Their names and ages are not being released at this time.  The accident is still under investigation.
