Restoration work on B-29 engine

October 17, 2010|By Dave Roberts | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(WICHITA, Kan.) — The Kansas Aviation Museum brought a piece of history to life Sunday afternoon. Workers there ran an R3350, 18 Cylinder, radial, B-29 engine.

The engine was sitting in the Mohave Dessert since the 1950's, just before the US Military retired the B-29's.

The engine was restored and the museum says the engine is fully operational.
