(HAYSVILLE, Kan.) — Fire damaged a vacant Haysville home early Monday morning. Crews were called to the home in the 300 block of north Baughman around six o'clock Monday morning.

According to our news partners at KFDI radio, when firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting through the back door of the home and fire burning through parts of the roof.

Fire officials say crews had to cut through the length of the roof to get the fire under control. Investigators say the home had been vacant for at least a month.

No word yet on how the fire started. The flames caused at least $25,000 in damage to the home.
