(SALINA,Kan.) — More than 100 shopping carts are missing between two Salina grocery stores. Local law enforcement call the disappearance from the Dillons “unusual”.
Dillons officials say that each cart is valued at $100. After so many carts went missing Dillons called on the Salina police department to step in.
Police officials told KWCH they do not have any leads. Officials added all of the patrol officers in the area are aware of the on-going investigation and are instructed to be on alert
"It is an unusual number of carts that have been stolen,” says Salina police captain Mike Sweeney.
“We do have the occasional person that will take it to their home, maybe abandon it someplace…for this many to go missing in this short of time is pretty unusual.”
