(WICHITA, Kan.) — Sedgwick County Emergency Medical Service has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services for its compliance with national standards of excellence.
Sedgwick County EMS becomes the 142nd ambulance service in the United States to successfully complete the voluntary review process, which includes completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services.
Sedgwick County EMS is now the only ambulance service to be accredited in the state of Kansas.
The commission establishes national standards that address the delivery of patient care, as well as an ambulance service's total operation and its relationship with other agencies, the general public, and the medical community.
