(COWLEY COUNTY, Kan.) — Pathologists say a man and woman found in a submerged car in Cowley County last week drowned.
The victims are 26-year-old Cortney Christine Brewer and 31-year-old Jason Wayne Patterson. Both were from Arkansas City.
Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks.

Authorities in Cowley County identify the bodies of a man and woman found in an SUV in the Arkansas River.
A person found a submerged Chevy Blazer upside down in the river Friday morning. Investigators say it appears the driver lost control, went off the road and into the river, but a final determination has not been reached.
The vehicle is registered in Cowley County. The victims are 26-year-old Cortney Christine Brewer and 31-year-old Jason Wayne Patterson. Both were from Arkansas City.
Authorities say there are 10 feet of braking skidmarks on 322nd road, near where the car was found.
