EL DORADO, Kan. — Zach Mettenberger is going back to the SEC.

The nation's top junior college quarterback signed a scholarship with LSU on National Junior College Signing Day, Wednesday. He had many suitors but narrowed his choices down to Texas A&M and LSU before going with the Tigers.

Mettenberger threw for 2,678 yards and 32 touchdowns, breaking the Butler single season touchdown record in his only season with the Grizzlies.

He will have three years remaining at LSU and is expected to enroll in January.

Jayhawk Conference defensive player of the year Cornellius Carradine signed with Florida State. The dominating defensive end also had his pick of the litter, including K-State, but went with the Seminoles.
