22 people want to be on the Wichita City Council

(WICHITA, Kan.) — 22 people are running for the Wichita City Council.  That's the number of people who filed for the five seats including mayor. 

There will be at least three new faces, term limits prohibit Sue Schlapp and Paul Gray from running again.  Former council member Jim Skelton resigned to take a seat on the Sedgwick County Commission, also opening up a seat.  Mayor Carl Brewer is running again for his position along with District V councilman Jeff Longwell.

The primary will be March 1st.  The two candidates with the most votes in each district will move on for the April 5th general election.
