Shooting death investigated in New Cambria

(NEW CAMBRIA, Kan.) — Salina County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a woman in New Cambria.

According to our news partners at The Salina Journal, 39-year-old Carol Sue Williams suffered a gunshot wound to the head Thursday night at her home.

She later died at Salina Regional Health Center.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says 40 year old Steven Couch Jr. was arrested on charges of first degree murder, criminal damage to property, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

New Cambria is a few miles northeast of Salina.
