(WICHITA, Kan.) — A Wichita police officer undergoes surgery after his patrol car is t-boned and catches fire.
He and his partner were headed to help another officer with a chase Saturday when the suspect ran his car right into them.
The crash happened at 26th and Grove. One of the officers had surgery on his leg and will be off work for the next three months.
The other is expected to return to work this week.
The suspect was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on two counts of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer and multiple traffic offenses.
