Burglars hit Burlington Coat Factory, lead police on chase

March 01, 2011|By John Boyd | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(WICHITA, Kan.) — Wichita police arrest two men who led them on a chase through town early Tuesday morning.  It all started around 7:30 a.m. when the alarm sounded at the Burlington Coat Factory on E. Kellogg.

Officers got there and saw a pickup backed up to the store, and a man running out of the store with his arms full of clothing.

The truck sped off.  Police tried to stop it, but the driver led them on a chase for ten to 15 minutes through a neighborhood, past Towne East Mall and into Eastborough where the truck swerved to avoid a police stop stick.

The truck went up through a lawn and came to rest against a house. There wasn't much damage to the house and no one was hurt.
