Voters head to the polls for Primary

(WICHITA, Kan.) — It's Primary Day and voters trickled into polling places across Wichita. Voters are picking candidates for the general election next month.

Turnout is expected to be around nine percent according to Bill Gale, Sedgwick County Election Commissioner.

There are races in Wichita for Mayor, City Council and Board of Education.

  • Wichita Mayor: Top 2 candidates will advance to the April 5 General Election.
  • Wichita City Council: Top 2 candidates in each district will advance to the April 5 General Election.
  • Wichita BOE: Top 3 candidates in each district will advance to the April 5 General Election.

Other communities are selecting candidates who will also run in the April 5 General Election.
