March 02, 2011|By Joe Fenton | KWCH 12 Eyewitness News

(WICHITA, Kan.) — Feeling a little down on yourself? Just check Facebook.

A new study suggests that spending time with the online you, with hundreds of "friends" and witty status updates might help your self-esteem.

Researchers at Cornell University say looking at Facebook appears to provide a quick ego boost.  That's because we all tend to put our best foot forward online, and create a very positive image of ourselves.

In the study, participants who spent a few minutes viewing their Facebook pages gave higher marks in a questionnaire about their self-esteem, compared to those who did not log on to Facebook.
