Storm Team 12: Ch-ch-ch-Changes!

March 03, 2011|By Meteorologist Rodney Price | Storm Team 12

The mild temperatures we've enjoyed today will cool by Friday.

A cold front in Nebraska will work across Kansas tonight, switching our winds to the north and becoming gusty out west.  We expect some light rain showers in the northwest tonight to eventually change to some light snow.

On Friday, expect plenty of clouds around the state with light snow changing back to light rain in the northwest.  Any accumulation of snow will be light, under an inch generally.  Meanwhile the rest of the viewing area will see light rain showers developing, especially by afternoon in eastern Kansas.  Highs tomorrow will range from the lower 40s in the northwest to around 50 degrees in Wichita.

Your weekend will start off chilly but warmer temperatures will return by Sunday.

The weather pattern for next week looks unsettled.  Expect a storm system to take shape, which will increase the winds across Kansas.  Some snow is possible in the Goodland and Colby areas late Monday into Tuesday, while showers and storms are possible in eastern Kansas Tuesday afternoon.  Stay tuned!
