Police bust two marijuana grow operations

(ARKANSAS CITY, Kan.) — Arkansas City Police Department and Cowley County Drug Task Force found a marijuana cultivation operation being conducted inside a walk-in closet. 

Adult marijuana plants were removed from the residence along with cultivation paraphernalia along with other drug paraphernalia.

Two men were taken into custody and booked into the Cowley County Jail on $12,000 bonds. The two are charged with Possession of THC, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Cultivation of Marijuana and for Cultivation Paraphernalia.

Further investigation led officers to a location in Winfield, where they found a third suspect along with marijuana, and more evidence related to the grow location in Arkansas City.

An 18-year-old male was taken into custody on charges of Possession of Marijuana, Cultivation of Marijuana, and Possession of Cultivation Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Cowley County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
