March 08, 2011|by Christina Karaoli

COLBY, Kan. — Two Colby residents were injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday night.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers say their pickup was westbound on U.S Highway 24, just west of Thomas County Road 24 when it tried to pass another vehicle late Monday night.

The driver of the pickup, Brady Robert Rundel, 21, lost control.  The truck spun into a ditch and rolled.  Both Rundel, and his passenger, Dalen Jo Schlageck, 21, were thrown out of the truck.

Rundel was taken to the Thomas County Medical Center. Schlageck was flown to Swedish Hopsital in Denver.

Investigators say neither man was wearing a seatbelt.
