(WICHITA, Kan.) — An entire season comes down to one game. The state tournament is going on right now and there's a lot of pressure to win for one Wichita school. Heights has a had a great year. The football team is the state champion. The wrestling team is the best in its class too. The bowling team won its state tournament. Now the basketball team is ready to bring home a trophy, both the girls and boys teams.
"You spend your whole season to get to this point, where a basketball team is entering tonight and tomorrow," says Heights Athletic Director, Rick Wheeler
The Heights girls and boys basketball team will play in Koch Arena this week competing for the state title. This is the first time Wichita has hosted a site for the basketball tournament since 1994.
"Only one boys team and only one girls basketball team is going to win it that doesn't mean all the rest of them aren't successful."
Even though they remember the phrase, it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game, the players and coaches would like to see two new basketball trophies in this collection.
