(SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan.) — Authorities throughout Sedgwick County cleared 79 warrants in a county-wide warrant sweep Wednesday. The sheriff’s office says the operation was set up to apprehend people wanted in connection with outstanding traffic arrest warrants.
29 deputies and officers from local agencies including Kansas State Parole, Wichita Police, Maize Police, Goddard Police, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, El Dorado Police, USD 266 Police, Park City Police and the Sedgwick County Fire Department all took part in the sweep.
The sheriff’s office says authorities made 139 attempts to serve warrants, 47 people were arrested – clearing 79 warrants.
