(WICHITA, Kan.) — More than a thousand people take part in the Cards for a the Cure tournament.
The two day Texas Hold em' event began on Friday where the participants competed for a chance to win a trip to Lass Vegas and play in a World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker tournament.
More importantly, all the money that was raised went for the Mid-Kansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for their fight against breast cancer. The inaugural event raised over $90,000. Up to 75% of that will stay in the 95 counties to provide education and outreach, survivorship services, and screening services for those less fortunate. 25% will go directly towards finding a cure for the disease.
Four year cancer survivor, Ken James of Wichita one the top prize.
