(ARKANSAS CITY, Kan) — Arkansas City Police arrest two people for drug charges, stemming from an incident that started at a pharmacy.
Officers were called to K n' D Pharmacy for a report of someone trying to fill a fake prescription.
The woman tried to flee the store when confronted by an officer. The officer chased her as she fled on foot. An off-duty trooper who witnessed the chase help apprehend the female suspect.
Police later identified a male suspect. As officers began interviewing the pair, a small zippered purse was located containing drug paraphernalia. The bag was found to have several used syringes and other paraphernalia inside, as well as heroin. Several fake prescriptions were also found. The two were placed under arrest and were taken to the Arkansas City Police Department, along with their two young children.Police later discovered the couple have allegedly committed these crimes before. Further investigation is ongoing, as police say the pair had a long list of pharmacies and maps to various other cities.
