WICHITA, Kan. — It's a deep breath for the dogs of the K-9 Search and Rescue of Kansas.
The organization received an oxygen kit Saturday; the kit can be used anytime the search and rescue dogs have trouble breathing.
Our dogs are air sent dogs that would be used to go to a field or disaster area and search for missing people,” says Don Gamble of K-9 Search and Rescue of Kansas.
The kit allows good air in, blocks the bad air and lets the animal properly exhale. "It’s designed for the shape of a dogs face or a feline but could be used for any little nose that can fit in there," says Beth Ericson of Invisible Fence of Central Kansas.
